At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to: Discuss the state-of-the-art in the conceptualization and measurement of participation. Describe its utility as an outcome measure for individuals with TBI, SCI, CVA and other rehabilitation recipients.

Clinical/Research Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to: Describe how modern optical techniques can be used to image cells and axons in living animals. Discuss how modern magnetic resonance imaging has allowed ultrahigh definition visualization of the living. Describe how in vivo optical and magnetic resonance imaging can aid in research on plasticity and repair of the injured nervous system, and how this will advance the rehabilitation of persons with injuries of the brain and spinal cord.
