RFP
Deadline for Supplement Guest Editor Extended to April
16, 2007
The
ACRM Archives Supplement Committee has extended the RFP deadline for
Guest Editor for the 2008 ACRM Special Supplement in the Archives
of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to April 16, 2007. The supplement
is a unique chance for an experienced rehabilitation researcher or group
of researchers to compile a thematically based supplement in the Archives
of PM&R to a maximum of 100 pages.
The goal of the ACRM annual supplement in the Archives of PM&R
is to publish high quality scientific articles which are thematically
organized and of special interest to ACRM members and to the general
readership of the Archives of PM&R. While all manuscripts
go through independent peer-review prior to publication, the Guest Editor
has considerable latitude in the content and tone of the supplement.
We strive to make these supplements classic collections
of articles organized around themes relevant to ACRM members.
According to the recent citation index, the Archives of PM&R
is the number one rehabilitation journal in the country. With a subscription
of 11,000 plus and online availability, this is an exciting opportunity
to compile and edit a collection of high-quality scientific articles
organized around special themes relevant to the ACRM.
Previous ACRM supplements to Archives of PM&R have covered
a broad range of topics such as Outcomes Research (2000), Ethics (2001),
Quality of Life (2002-3), Community Re-integration (2004), Opening the
Black Box of Stroke Rehabilitation (2005), Neuroplasticity and Neuroimaging
in Acquired Brain Injury: Measurement, Concepts, and Applications (2006),
and Burn Model System (2007). The Archives Supplement Committee encourages
submissions of topics that explore innovative and novel approaches to
rehabilitation medicine. Examples include Movement Induced Neuroplasticity,
Tele-Rehabilitation, Virtual Rehabilitation, Assistive Technologies,
Aging with Disability, Application of Measurement Theory, Health Service
Research and Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Team Functioning, along
with other exciting new insights into rehabilitation.
Interested individuals are encouraged to contact Bruce Caplan, PhD,
ABPP, FACRM, Chair of the Archives Supplement Committee, by phone at
