    ACRM Board of Governors

     

    The ACRM Nominating Committee is pleased to announce the results of the 2015 Board of Governors election and welcome the following officers to the board. They will transition into their new leadership roles on 31 October 2015. Congratulations!

     

    Deborah Backus, PhD, FACRMPresident-Elect:  Deborah Backus, PT, PhD, FACRM
    Dr. Backus is the Director of Multiple Sclerosis Research at the Eula C. and Andrew C. Carlos MS Rehabilitation and Wellness Program at Shepherd Center. She currently serves as a member-at-large on the ACRM board of governors, as chair of the Neurodegenerative Diseases Networking Group and as a member of the Program Committee.

    Dr. Jennifer BognerSecretary: Jennifer Bogner, PhD, ABPP, FACRM
    Dr. Bogner is professor and vice-chair of Research and Academic Affairs in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Ohio State University. She currently serves as a member-at-large on the ACRM board of governors, as chair-elect of the Brain Injury Interdisciplinary Special Interest Group (BI-ISIG), and as BI-ISIG liaison to the Membership Committee.

    Jeanne Hoffman, PhD, ABPPMember-at-Large: Jeanne M. Hoffman, PhD, ABPP
    Dr. Hoffman is an associate professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and associate member of the Harborview Injury Prevention & Research Center at the University of Washington. She is a member of the Spinal Cord Injury Interdisciplinary Special Interest Group (SCI-ISIG) and has been an ACRM member since 2004.

    James McDeavitt, MDMember-at-Large: James T. McDeavitt, MD
    Dr. McDeavitt is professor and chair of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and dean of Clinical Affairs at Baylor College of Medicine. He is member of the Brain Injury Interdisciplinary Special Interest Group (BI-ISIG) and has been a member of ACRM since 1992.

     

    The board appointed Fofi Constantinidou and Virginia Mills to serve as members-at-large to fulfill the remaining one-year terms of board members who have moved on to other leadership roles.

    Fofi ConstantinidouFofi Constantinidou, PhD, FACRM, FASHA
    Dr. Constantinidou is professor of language disorders and neuropsychology and founding director of the Center for Applied Neuroscience at the University of Cyprus. She currently serves as chair of the International Networking Group (ING) and is a member of the BI-ISIG Girls and Women with ABI Task Force.  She has been a member of ACRM since 2006.

    Virginia MillsVirginia Mills, MS, PT, CCM, Licensed NHA, FACRM
    Ms. Mills is a consultant to Neurological Rehabilitation Associates in Wellesley, MA. She is a founding member of the BI-ISIG and former chair and active participant in the annual conference since the 1980s. Ms. Mills has been a member of ACRM since 1992.

     


     

    ACRM is led by members elected to serve on the board of governors. Supporting the board are volunteer standing committees as well as a business team led by the Chief Executive Officer.
