M-ISIG 2024 Call for Nominations is Now OPEN

 

Open for several officer positions on the M-ISIG Executive Committee, are listed below. Results will be announced following the election

  • Communications Officer
  • Awards Officer
  • Early Career Officer
  • Member-At-Large

 

The deadline to respond is 23 April 2024

Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged, as are peer nominations of M-ISIG members.

Nomination Procedure –  OPEN for 2024

All candidates must be or become active ACRM members in good standing and current member of the M-ISIG. All nominations should be emailed Linda Ehrlich-Jones, ljones1@sralab.org Nominating Committee Chair, and M-ISIG Past Chair and to include the following:

  • The Officer position for which the candidate is nominated
  • The name of the candidate, with credentials
  • Candidate’s title and affiliation
  • Candidate’s CV

CRITERIA FOR M-ISIG EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS

  • Active ACRM member in good standing and member of M-ISIG
  • Knowledgeable about and supportive of the ACRM & M-ISIG mission and objectives
  • Demonstrate a special commitment to ACRM & M-ISIG through tenure of membership and participation in the organization
  • Ability to accomplish tasks on schedule and to work effectively with other people
  • Understand and agree to the necessary commitment of time and community activities
  • Must attend monthly M-ISIG Executive Committee meetings.

The successful officers will assume their positions during the M-ISIG Business Meeting which occurs during the 101st ACRM Annual Fall Conference on 31 October – 3 November in Dallas at the Hilton Anatole, following notification and confirmation of acceptance.

 


 

Roles & Responsibilities

 

Communications Officer

Responsibilities:

The Communications Officer will lead and appoint members to the Knowledge Translation Committee to assist with communication using print, electronic, website, and social media. The Communications Officer will serve as editor of the Measurement-ISIG’s newsletter and contribute content to ACRM Enews and social media. The Communications Officer will be responsible for assuring that the content of the Measurement-ISIG newsletter is reflective of the purpose of the Measurement-ISIG and consistent with professional standards for periodical literature, as well as ensuring its timely distribution on a biannual basis. The Communications Officer, in coordination with the ACRM National Office, will be responsible for assuring that the content of Measurement-ISIG portion of the ACRM website is up to date and reflective of the mission and activities of the Measurement-ISIG. The Communications officer may appoint a web associate editor from the Knowledge Translation Committee members.

The Communications Officer, in coordination with the ACRM National Office, will also be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of communications using social media, as deemed necessary by the Measurement-ISG membership. The Communications officer may appoint a social media associate editor from the Knowledge Translation Committee members.

The Communications Officer, in coordination with ACRM’s Communications Committee, will support Measurement-ISIG Task Forces in reviewing Information/Education content for the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The Communications Officer, in coordination with the ACRM National Office, will evaluate and respond to dissemination requests for Measurement-ISIG-related activities and research including determination of appropriateness of the request and facilitation/coordination. In support of this duty, the Communications Officer will serve as Measurement-ISIG liaison and member of the ACRM Communications committee.

Term:

Holds office for two (2) years. This position can be extended for two (2) optional two-year terms if agreed upon by the Communications Officer and Nominating Committee and voted upon by the Measurement-ISIG membership.

 

Awards Officer

Responsibilities:

The Awards Officer shall ensure that the Measurement-ISIG sponsored program content and the identification and presentation of poster awards occur at the ACRM annual meeting. The Awards Officer will serve as an alternate to the Chair-Elect on the ACRM Program Committee. The Awards Officer will in collaboration with the Chair-Elect assure that ACRM program content sufficiently addresses Measurement-ISIG interests and that sponsored Measurement-ISIG programs are coordinated with the Program Committee. The Awards Officer will also chair the Awards Committee. The Award Officer will appoint two Measurement-ISIG members with strong research experience to review the relevant abstracts and select recipients.

Term:

Holds office for two (2) years. This position can be extended for two (2) optional two-year terms if agreed upon by the Awards Officer and Nominating Committee and voted upon by the Measurement-ISIG membership.

 

Early Career Officer

Responsibilities:

The Early Career Officer shall act as liaison between the ACRM Early Career Networking Group and the Measurement-ISIG and provide a regular reporting of early career ACRM membership needs and concerns. The Early Career Officer will provide input on all decisions to assure that the Measurement-ISIG is meeting the needs of early career members and professionals. The Early Career Officer may undertake projects or design and promote initiatives that improve early career membership value and enhance ACRM and Measurement-ISIG recruitment and retention of early career professionals.

Term:

Holds office for two (2) years. This position can be extended (re-elected) for additional two-year terms only if the officer will maintain “Early Career” status (that is, within 5 years of completing postgraduate training) for additional term.

 

Member-at-Large 

Responsibilities:

The Member-At-Large will assist with carrying out special projects as assigned and needed by the Measurement ISIG.

Holds office for two (2) years. This position can be extended for two (2) optional two-year terms if agreed upon by the Member-At-Large and Nominating Committee and voted upon by the Measurement-ISIG membership.
